Piggy banks
A solid pine cube with a slot cut in the lid. Your name goes on the top and a design of your choice is routed into the front and painted in by hand. The box itself stays bare pine unless you want it stained dark. Name and colour are free on every size. A second name on a second face, extra slots, or a hinge and latch are all things he has done, so ask him first.
Beer caddies
A six bottle carrier in solid pine with a handle cut through the centre board and a cast iron bottle opener bolted to the front of it. The panel underneath gets the same treatment as the banks: routed out and painted by hand. He has done team badges, beer brands and a local company logo. Send him the picture and ask.
Accessory organizers
A small chest of drawers rather than an open tray: three drawers on wooden runners, turned knobs, and a darker stained top. Built for watches, chains, rings and the things that end up loose on a dresser. Tell him how many drawers you want and how deep, and he sizes them to suit.
Plaque boards
Not a flat engraved board. The picture is carved in relief so it stands off the face, then painted by hand, with the names running around the edge and the year at the bottom. People order them for a birth, a father, an anniversary. Send him the photo or the idea and he will tell you whether he can carve it.
Shop signs
Not a printed board. The whole sign is cut from timber, every letter routed out and painted by hand, then hung from its own frame with chain. He has done a tailor shop on Kemp Road with the phone numbers and the address on it. Tell him what has to be on it and how big the wall is.
